There were 10 gold and 7 silver medals as well as personal bests, club records and a Championship Best Performance for Moray Roadrunners.
The Milne boys, Blair and Joshua, who are U10, but competed in U12, each had 2 PBs and Blair took the club records for 75m (14.10) and 800m (3.09.90).
Anne Mitchell U12g had a PB for the 75m.
At the U14g, Lauren Bell ran away from the opposition winning both the 100m and the 75m hurdles. Her 100m broke her own club record.
Andrew Stoker U14b, who is almost 3 years younger than most of the other boys in his age group, had 3 silver medals in the 100m, 200m and long jump.
The U16g representative was Dionne Milne who had a very good day, taking 2 gold (hammer & discus) and a silver for 300m (45.06PB), as well as Championship Best Performance for her discus (37.64m), 3 PBs and 2 club records.
For U16b, Callum Alexander had a silver at javelin. Michael Laing, competing in his first District Championships, had a silver at high jump, also a PB and another PB in his javelin.

Scottish Women's Athletic League - Sunday 22nd April
Three Moray Roadrunners travelled down to Meadowbank to compete in the Women's League - Lauren Bell, Lara Dalgarno and Dionne Milne. This event continues to use the under-odd age groups.
In the U13s, Lauren had an amazing day, achieving 3 PBs. In her long jump she finished with a distance of 4.55m, 28cm further
than her previous PB and finishing first. In the 70m hurdles, she ran a
time of 12.08 secs, once again finishing first. Having already competed in
2 events, Lauren managed to pull out all the stops in the 200m in a time of
28.33 secs and finished 2nd. Lauren also ran a strong leg in the relay.
In the U15s, Dionne competed in the shot putt and javelin. She managed to
clinch 2nd position in shot putt with a best throw of 8.42m and in javelin
finished in 2nd position with a best throw of 23.10m, this being a PB.
In the U17s, Lara threw a distance of 7.12m in shot putt, finishing 5th. She
then went on to compete in the javelin, finishing a creditable 6th with a
distance of 15.29m. She also ran a good leg in the relay, despite taking a
tumble!
Very well done girls.

Several of our athletes compete for other clubs in leagues that Moray Roadrunners do not compete in. This gives them good competition, but unfortunately their results cannot be claimed by MRR as club records. Whilst this is the rules, the athletes are making the most of a high standard of competition.
Young Athletes League - Dundee - Sun 6th May 2012
The largest number of Moray Roadrunners' athletes has been selected for Team North, formerly HIPPO, to compete at this match.
These athletes are Cara Nally, Beth Grant, Lauren Bell, Grace Whelan, Andrew Stoker, Mark, Jack & Ben Mitchell, Dionne Milne, Lara Dalgarno and Michael Laing. Emma Bowie had to decline as she was off to London for the UK School Games and Callum Alexander was doing a triathlon.
Well done on your selection.
New Petrofac Records for MRR athletes
Records for U10 to U18 were available as this is the first time the league has worked U-even age groups.
Lauren Bell has taken the U14g 75m hurdles record and Emma Bowie (U18g) has taken the discus record.
Blair Milne (U10b) was very close to both the 80m and the 600m records. Andrew Stoker (U14b) was ill and did not take part but he should take both the 200m & long jump records at the next meet. Callum Alexander (U16b) was also very close to the 200m record.
We shall look forward to seeing how they do.
Petrofac Meet 1 - Inverness - 29th April 2012
The club had 10 new representatives competing at the league on a sunny day, despite call offs with the dreaded bug going the rounds. There appears to be problems with some of the results, due to combining age groups at some events. However Moray Roadrunners did very well.
As this is the first year of U-even age groups all 'A' string 1st places would be new records, unless the East meet did better. Pending records go to Blair Milne (U10b) 600m, Lauren Bell (U14g) 75m hurdles and 200m, Emma Bowie (U18w) Discus, and Ben Mitchell (U18m) 110m hurdles.
In addition to the above, there were a number of club records including a new club record and PB for Dionne Milne at discus of 37.16m. This has put her top of both the Scottish & UK rankings. MRR currently has 2 athletes ranked no.1 in the UK, Dionne & Emma Bowie, and both Lauren Bell and Andrew Stoker (U14) are creeping up those rankings as well. Lauren took both the 200m and the 75m hurdles club record, Ben took the 200m and 110m hurdles and Emma the discus.
There were PBs (personal best) for our new athletes Blair and Joshua Milne, Jack Levy, Anne Mitchell, Niamh & Grace Whelan, Beth Grant, Lauren Bell, Charlotte Beven, Stewart Bright, Dionne Milne, Lara Dalgarno, Callum Alexander, Michael Laing, Ben Mitchell, Brian Milne, James Wilson and Sarah Calcott. Sarah is a very welcome senior women's runner.
The next Petrofac meeting is June 10th. I do hope we will have all these athletes competing again, as Moray Roadrunners is really becoming a force to be reckoned with, despite being a small club (track-wise).
Thanks to Margery for the report.

HIPPO Open Graded Meet - Inverness - Sunday 15th April
The first track meet of the season saw a number of the younger athletes trying track competition. They all did well and there were a number of personal bests and good results.
The U10B saw Blair and Joshua Milne set club records at 150m, 800m, shot put and long jump. At U12B, Tom Jenkins won his quadrathon and U14B Morgan Lewis was 3rd in his pentathlon. Niamh Whelan ran a track 800m and tried long jump.
Our seasoned competitors had some outstanding performances. U16B Callum Alexander, won his javelin and ran a good time at the 200m. U18B, Ben Mitchell, after a 6 week layoff with a fractured toe, improved his PB at high jump to 1.70m.
Gary Sweeney, SM, competed in both the shot put and discus throw, close to his PB at the shot put.
Lauren Bell, Dionne Milne and Lara Dalgarno have been selected for the Women's League meet at Meadowbank. Emma Bowie has pulled out due to exam commitments.
The next track outing for the club will be the Petrofac League meet on 29th April at the Inverness track.
Selections for Team North in the Youth Athletic League meet should be made this week.
Well done everyone.
Thanks to Margery for the report.

Well done to all those competitors.
On March 31st there is the first outdoor Track Meet at the Aberdeen stadium, details above.
The next meet is Sunday 15th April at the Inverness track. I do urge all those athletes who want to compete at the track to go and get a time, from a race or distance, if trying shot or long jump, as the team is made up from the fastest athletes, but all other athletes are allowed to compete in non scoring places to help them improve their times/distances.
